Isn’t It A Little Too Late to Start a Blog?

I’ve always found a sense of release in writing; in putting pen to paper (or in this case, fingers to keyboard) and being able to retrace my word choices, train of thought, emotions that consume me, the stories my mind makes up, my tendencies to both catastrophize and romanticize situations, etc. It has and continues to serve, as my confessional.

Free of shame. Free of judgment. Free of criticism.

From the outside world at least.

Writing gives me the space to unpack what goes on in my mind; process my emotions around different experiences, people, ideas, and circumstances; it’s where my inner world and outer world collide.

It gives me the space to narrate my story in a way that only I can. Sometimes it’s absolute chaos while at other times it’s a bird gliding in midair.

Writing gives me the opportunity to learn how to connect with myself.

To not only step into my story but to own my story.

And so it’s through writing that I feel best able to connect with those outside of my Self.

This is why I envision this space as more of a digital journal.

To document, gather my thoughts, and reflect — whatever that may look like.

So I guess in a way, this is an unveiling of the innermost workings of my mind.

And maybe in showing you mine, you might feel encouraged to explore yours.
